Training
Team Cymru members have a wealth of educational experience. Several, in fact, have taught undergraduate and graduate level IT and security courses at major universities, such as Oxford and Indiana University. Given this breadth and depth of experience, Team Cymru provides training in fields related to our Internet security research in a number of ways:
- Directly through ad-hoc arrangements with individual businesses, organizations, trade groups, etc.
- Through documents and whitepapers written by members of Team Cymru and published through our web site.
- Through presentations given at both open- and closed-audience conferences and less-formal gatherings of networking, security, and other communities.
- Through secure configuration example templates published here on our web site.
We are strong advocates of higher education, and employees of Team Cymru have lectured at CENIC, DePaul University, Merit, the Naval Postgraduate School, Northwestern University, Notre Dame University, and Oxford University. Members of Team Cymru have served as adjunct professors in the Continuing Education Department at William Rainey Harper Community College and currently serve as an adjunct professor at George Mason University.
We believe in practical training, and have contributed to several such training projects. Most notably we contributed to Forward Edge II, a set of law enforcement training DVDs for the United States Secret Service.
